We chose to use the scenario method because it provides more context surrounding the user’s activities which gives us a more complete picture of the user.
Collected data will be analyzed in terms of how well the interaction design supports subscriber involvement. The scope of this project will focus on the user interface and the interactive strategy of the UM Legislative Updates. We chose these specific tasks and features because they offer the best opportunity to increase usability for recipients of the Legislative Updates and because they are the areas that most survey respondents identified as problematic. In four of the seven items listed 100% of users stated that the item in its current state was unsatisfactory. In the remaining three items 50-60% of users indicated that these areas also needed attention. While most of the users also had issues with the content itself we do not think this is necessarily within the scope of our project nor is it an area within which we would be able to affect change.
