Video Assignment

The purpose of this assignment is to develop skills used for creating videos. I decided to make a fast paced video montage of my trip to Las Vegas. I traveled with my brother and for the first day we went to a local gun range. It was a fun experience and we took a good deal of footage with our iPhone 4s. To start I wanted to use make a sound track fitting of Las Vegas and guns so it led me to use an AD/DC song. I chose to use the song "Big Gun". I used Adobe Audition to use the first thirty seconds of the song's intro. Then I was able to sample and loop about ten seconds worth of melody to make the entire background track.


After the background track was finished I placed it Premiere and started to work on cutting the footage. I started with the rough sequences and put them in the order I liked. Some of the footage from the iPhone was shot wrong in orientation. So what I did to fix this was to put two videos side by side making a split scene. I particularly liked this because it made what would be a kind of plain composition more exciting to look at. Once the sequences were cut to the correct time I added a title sequence. I used a stock footage of a flame and added a text layer above the footage. I then made a transition of blurry to focus for the text. At the end I added ending credits. Right after the title I put in a still shot of the outside of the gun range.
